christmas gifts

I'm going to be making a few posts this week, but just so you dont get disappointed I will warn you ahead of time. I'm not going to make long posts, they will be short. And on to my post.

This year for Christmas, I got three t-shirts (from my parents and older brother), pajama bottoms (from my aunt), a cell phone (from my parents), a file folder for debate (my parents), and a MacArthur study bible (also from my parents).

One of my t-shirts is a terminator salvation one, the second says "I pledge allegiance to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Revelation 19:16", and finally the third one says, "Global Warming, better not be there when it really heats up. 2 Peter 3:1o"

I think the cell phone is my favorite present, I've been using it a lot and figuring it out and stuff. The phone is a tracfone, pay as you go. I also have unlimited double minutes for it, so if I buy 60 minutes I get 120 and if I buy 120 then I get 240 and so on. It's so cool.

I really enjoy all the presents I got, but for now I'm signing off.

What I believe (Calvinism)

This is mainly for Lady Adriana a friend from the Door Within Forums but also for anyone else who wishes to read it. This is why I believe that Calvinism is true.

The Bible has a lot to say about predestination and how we are dead in sin. Take for example these verses:
Ephesians 2:4-10
"4But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."
Those verses are saying that it was God who saved us, while we were still DEAD in our Transgressions or sins. If someone is dead, they have no way to respond to anything, so God raised us up out of this death of sin into His life. it was by the grace and mercy of God that we were saved. In Verse eight it says that we were not saved by ourselves, but by the gift of God.

Colossians 2:13-14
"13
When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
14
having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
While we were dead in our transgressions He made us alive with Him and forgave us our debt. A debt that we could never have repaid on our own.

John 6:37 & 44
"37"All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.
44"No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day."
Notice the words there, "All that the FATHER GIVES ME..." and "NO ONE can come to Me unless the FATHER WHO SENT ME DRAWS HIM..." God is the one who chose us, and we will go to Him if we are among the chosen.

Romans 8:29-30
"29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
30and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified."
Notice the words predestined and foreknew in there. God chose us even before time began. He chose who would go and who wouldn't.

Ephesians 1:5-7 & 11
"5He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,
6
to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
7
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
11
also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,"
Again He predestined us and gave us life through his blood.

Those verses (and there may be more) make me believe, with my whole heart, that God predestined us from before time began. That He chose us and we did not choose Him. I have more to say on this subject, but that is all I will say for now.

let us speak about God in school!!!

here's something I want to share with everyone.

Rocky Mountain

Alright, I cant remember everything that happened so I wont be posting about everything. Here's what I will will blog about though, and in this order, HI (humorous interp), in between rounds, and my final debate round.

First I'd like to say that I made it to finals in HI, I didn't win a trophy, but I still made it to finals!!! My HI was called, "Bonnie and Clyde Agency For the Unemployed Underworld" By Bill Majeski. It was such a fun one to do, although not the funniest. The thing I did best with it was the voices. Everyone loved how I could change my voices in different ways. I don't know which voice they liked best, Bonnie or Clyde. At the end of one of my rounds one judge asked me what my real voice sounded like! I thought it was kind of funny. To close my HI part of the post I'd like to say if anyone that I know is reading this blog, ask me to do my HI for you sometime and I will, it's so fun to do.

In between rounds, when the debaters can have a break from debating...
We never stop debating, in between rounds, we find random topics to debate about. The most debating started when me and my partner had a bye.
First I'll explain what a bye is. A bye is when you and you're partner don't have to debate because your opponent didn't show up. Now to continue.
When we have a bye...
Me and my partner got very, very, very bored. So we started talking. What did we talk about? Who's last name is more awesome. We argued until some of our other fellow debaters came bye. Then one of the guys got a piece of paper and went around asking random people what they thought. My name won! :D Then we made some new topics, Batman or spider-man, ninja or samurai, coke or pepsi, and finally which color is more manly pink or purple? the winners were, batman, ninja, pepsi, and purple!!!!

During our last round the judge gave us an oral critique. Which was really good, because i learned something new. I learned that Contention 1: topicality is the most important one to defend. It is what most judges judge on. SO if you dont have topicality then you basically LOSE. Scary, huh?

That's all I have for now, come back for more, later.

watching a debate

Just yesterday I went to watch a debate. While I was the I decided that I'm not going to do policy, but stop trying to see what happens next. You'll see when I get to it.

First, I had to get up at 6:15 am. AM!! Can you believe that? Then once I was ready we (me and my mom) had to go to pick up a friend. After we had picked him up we arrived a HALF HOUR EARLY!!!! Can't believe that. Fortunately I brought my little brother's DS.

When we got on the bus me and my buddy...for security reasons and because some people don't like other people to give out their names on the internet I'll refer to him as Freddy joe...sat together and played the DS and talked. I had brought, for lunch a big bag of doritoes, two sodas, a lunchable, pears, and some granola bars.

When we arrived at the school (am I moving too fast for you? well that's because I can't remember all the little details and don't talk as much as my big sister) we all were split into groups and assigned a varsity member to follow around. After every round we would switch varsity members.

The debates were not at all how I imagined them to be. I imagined them to be with two or three adult judges, a crowd of people, and in an auditorium. Instead they had one judge who was our age, in little classrooms, and the only people who were watching were any novice. Parents could go and watch if they wanted to, but I didn't see any.

The first debate that I watched was LD, Lincoln-Douglas. It wasn't an intense round or anything. It was actually kind of boring. But I still liked it. The round just went back and forth. One person talking, then next asking questions then responding, etc. The judges also aren't supposed to tell you who won, or how you did. You find that out from your coach on the way home.

In between rounds there's about ten, twenty minutes before the next one starts. We ate and stuff during that time.

The second debate I went to was PF, Public Forum. It was better than the first round. This one I found out that during cross-examintation you are not allowed to explain things unless you have been asked a question. This one girl from my school kept asking her opponent "are you asking a question?" and then he;'d be like, "oh yeah, sorry." it was kind of funny. :D

In between this round and the third I ate most of my food.

The third round was a policy debate. I couldn't stand the judge. When he entered the room and the debater asked his paradime (sp?) he said something along the lines of, "I don't give a *beep* about that kind of *beep* You guys can just *beep* do whatever you *beep* want to. and I also don't *beep* care if you curse." Then he seemed to be flirting with the two girls on the opposite team. And at the end of that debate he said that the two girls won. In my oppinion they had some pretty weak arguments. They were talking all about the internet. "we need to give people in poverty free internet and free computers." What?! how will that help them get out of poverty? And my side proved them wrong.

That was the last debate I watched because I was late to the last one. That was how my day went. I'm having a debate that I will actually compete in on Saturday, so I'll post about how it went.

Debates

Quick post and update on my debate class. We have started in class debates and have finished only two of them. Each debate takes about two days and maybe half of another. Both times the negative side has won. I hope that when it's my turn to do it I win.

Also, my first debate is on the 31st. I'm so nervous. I'm going to go and watch the varsity debate on the 24th though. I have to be at the school around 6:30 am for the debates though. :P How horrible, especially since they're on saturday's. Well, time for bed. Good night peoples.

video games

I've decided that starting monday I will not play any video games on school days. I'm starting to get too addicted...again. short post, I know. I'll try and make another one later on, today or tomorrow.

~the skater

school

On monday we're going to start having in class debates to prepare for our first debate on the 31st. I'm so nervous and excited. We're debating poverty at the moment, and I have almost completed mine. I'm about half way finished. My teacher says that one debate will probably take up the whole class period. I'll put my debate up after monday.

I'd also like you guys to pray for my friends that I sit with at lunch time. They've got some really bad lives and none of them are Christians. So, if you'd pray for them that would be great. Thanks

kill the good reward the bad

Alright sis, you can stop whining like a little girl. I'm posting now. :P

recently I read an article in the paper, in the opinion page. You can read the whole thing for yourself if you want. I won't be posting the whole thing here, it's just easier that way. The name of the article is "POCATELLO'S DOG POLICIES SHOULD BE REVIEWED" The article is talking about how dogs are being put down because of "aggressive" behavior. What is this aggressive behavior? It's not biting, it's growling and barking. You're probably thinking the same thing I was when I read the article. That's not aggressive behavior, every dog does that. Here's one story of a dog with the so called aggressive behavior.

"One so-called vicious dog, a St. Bernard-collie mix named Balou, is due to be euthanized in the near future. He's been in a cage since May 17. Balou's offense: He growled at an animal control officer and then was spotted in his owners backyard without a muzzle."

(insert sarcasm) Oh my goodness! the dog didn't have a muzzle after growling! can you believe that?! The next story is even more crazy.

"Another story is that of Rosco, a Newfoundlan-Labrador mix. He got into trouble when a Rottweiler bit his owner's daughter. Rosco bit the attacking dog in defense of the daughter. after an investigation, rosco was put in a tarp covered cage, where he's been since July 6. The Rottweiler that bit the daughter of Rosco's owner was not cited for any violation...animal control cited the daughter for allowing a vicious dog to run at large for Rosco's run-in with the Rottweiler."

WHAT?! the dog that attacked is allowed to live, gets no punishment, and is not cited while the other dog that was just defending it's master's daughter gets all of that? If I were there I would give Rosco a lot of treats and praise him. The Rottweiler should be the one to die, it attacked the daughter, it's the vicious one. Rosco was just protecting his family. People are really stupid if they do things like that.

When I first read this article I was about to try and compare it to humans, when I realized it wouldn't change a thing. This is what I was thinking. What if it were some guy that attacked someone's daughter? Then what if the father punched, maybe even shot the attacker? That's what I was thinking, but then I realized they'd probably put the father in jail. We live in a world where the government is just stupid.

This allows criminals to start suing officers if their drug sniffing dogs, search dogs, or just normal police dogs growl, bark, or attack someone. This probably will happen sometime. and then the courts will allow it. My brother said that he heard that this guy who was robbing a house, fell onto some forks and knives, and then sued because they left silverware out where someone could get hurt. He won the case. That man shouldn't have been in the house in the first place.

Debate class

In my debate class (I haven't told you I'm in a debate class at school have I? Well now you know) we have been discussing poverty. Me and two or three other people believe we should help those in poverty, the rest of the class is against it. They think we should stop helping them, force them out of the country, and even kill them......maybe use what Hitler used to get rid of them. They also say we shouldn't help other countries with wars and other stuff until we have helped ourselves and gotten out of debt. Right now we are learning how to debate. We are all writing debates on poverty, unfortunately for me I'm sick. And they're due tomorrow. I hope I get better before then. My first real debate will be either October 17 or 30. I'm really excited about it.

Every morning while the teacher is taking role she puts a quote on the whiteboard and then we write down what we think about it. We have only three minutes to copy down the quote and write our thoughts. Then she picks five people to go up and tell the rest of the class their thoughts. That person has only three minutes to tell their thoughts and answer questions, then the next person goes. I'll tell more about the debates in another post.

youth group(s) during the summer pt. 2

This is going to be my final post on youth groups for a while (I think). So you can now sit and enjoy the final one. Here we go.

The devil never takes a break from evil, why do we take breaks from God? Are we letting the devil do better than us in his work? While he always causes evil, we decide to postpone Bible studies for a while. Every youth group I have gone to has taken a "summer break". I feel sad that I have not been able to go to a youth group that has a lesson every week. That's probably why I keep having "discussions" with my youth group about summer. And no matter how much we argue with each other, no one agrees with the other. I won't be satisfied that they don't have lessons every week and they don't want to have a lesson every week. I long for the day that we will be in heaven and all we want to do is worship God, I wish we could do that on earth, but I know it is impossible, I will still try though. I pray that God would change the minds of my youth leaders and let us go through the whole year with Bible studies.

My youth leaders and their daughter say they are Calvinists. The daughter said to me "But I think that one of the reasons that we do more fun stuff in the summer is it's a lot easier to get someone who isn't a Chirstian to come and get to know everyone while doing fun things. Then after getting to know everyone they might stick around for the more in depth times during the school year...we're only Jr. High/High school group. We can't get that deep or we would loose some of the people in our group." here's my answer to that.

If you're a Calvinist then you know that God has already predestined and chosen us from before time even began. Knowing this, we should be able to preach the Word, even deeply without worrying about offending others. We preach the Word, and those who leave, leave. Like Paul said in 1Corinthians 3:6 "I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth." We are the ones who plant and water, but it is God who causes the growth. Don't think that just because someone walks away means that they wont be saved. You may have planted a seed in their hearts and if God allows it someone else will water that seed and God will save them. Don't try and make God, church, or the bible seem more exciting by doing your "fun stuff" instead of studying the Bible, do your "fun stuff" on different days than the usual youth group meetings. Don't try and impose on God's plan and works, just do your part and teach and let God work in other peoples lives. If He allows it they will be saved, if not, fine. God is God and you're not. (my Sunday school teacher says that a lot and I really like it.) God is the one who does the saving and those that He saves and chooses will go to Him and will accept Him, and they will not and can not be able to leave Him. (John 6:36,37,44 and 10:25-29)

You say the activities are to draw people to the group, I say do the Bible study and let God do that part. The Bible tells who God is and what He is like, not the games. Let's show people who God is instead of showing them how much fun we can be. Here's something that came to my mind the other day, most of the time when people try and make friends they just be themselves, they don't act differently and don't try to make themselves fit in or seem funner. i say if someone likes me because of who I am, Great! I just made another friend! If, on the other hand I have to change myself, then those people probably wont be very good friends. Let's show people who God is and not try to change Him. Let God do the pulling of people and you do the teaching, not the other way around.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable." We are all running in a race, and we need to run as though we were going to win. We need to have the endurance and the discipline it takes to be in the Word constantly, meaning everyweek and everyday, no breaks. the more breaks we take, the farther behind we get. When you're in the middle of a race you don't take a break to play chess or something, you run so you can win. Don't give up the race or even take a break, you only have one life, so spend it telling others about Jesus Christ and what he did for us.

I would now like to say that I don't have am problem with the youth group doing the fun activities on days other than the regular youth group days that should be reserved for a Bible study, but when you replace that with the "fun activities" I've got a problem, and I won't back down.

Why is it the quiet one who wants more Bible?

This time I'm just going to respond to something one of the people at my youth group told me while we were chatting online. I copied her comment and have been thinking about it, and now I will respond to it....................here. First, here is her comment.

"just nobody knows what to think of what you've said on the forum, I guess it is really hard to voice your opinion about what we're reading, I know it is for me at least, but people just don't get it when one of the quiet kinds speaks up online about not getting enough Bible time when he's only spoke up during the lessons once or twice"

I can speak up at youth group about me not liking the summer activities we do, but I thought it might be better if I did it online.

First to clear one thing up for those of you who read my blog. I'm not the type who can speak up as much as I do over the internet. I might be able to, but I never do. I'm still working on speaking up more often. Though I must admit, it has been hard since we haven't had a Bible study for a while.

Why don't people get it when I ask for more and deeper lessons, even when I don't speak up during the lessons? Speaking up isn't what gives you the Bible time. Sure it makes it more interesting when people talk and have discussions, but that's not what gives you your Bible time. It's when the person that's teaching does the teaching. It's how deep they get into the Word, it's how much the lesson affects you and makes you think. when you're in the middle of the Church service you don't just start voicing your opinion on whatever the pastor is preaching on. You just let the Preacher preach, and the Holy Spirit move. I can sit at youth group and listen to what the youth pastor is saying and still get as much out of the lesson as those who are doing the talking. And I can do that by just listening.

That's the end of my post, sorry for it being so short. I would like to say one more thing though, I am not saying that you shouldn't ever speak up. That's important also, I'm just saying that speaking up doesn't always give you more of the Word than it does others.

youth group(s) during the summer

"Everywhere there is apathy. Nobody cares whether that which is preached is true or false. A sermon is a sermon whatever the subject; only, the shorter is better." ~Charles H. Spurgeon

During the summer a lot, probably most youth groups substitute their normal meetings with fun stuff. It's play time, instead of God time. Sure there's some Bible lessons, but mostly it's all fun stuff. I can understand wanting to do all this stuff during the summer when everyone is out of school, but what I don't like is how they do it at the time when they should be doing Bible lessons. I don't care if it's done on a different day, like for example if youth group meets on Wednesday and they do it on a Thursday, or some other day. Unfortunately they do it on the day of youth group. My youth group is doing more fun than Bible.

The people at youth group tell me that I'm free to do Bible study on my own. True, but we're still taking a "summer break" from our studies, from learning about God, with each other. And while we do that, the Devil and his demons don't take a "summer break" from doing and causing evil. If Satan does not take a break from evil, why should we take a break from doing good, and learning about God? Doing a study on your own is good, but when there's more people and someone who knows the Bible better than you it's better. You can go more in depth and have better studies. If we truly did believe the bible, if we truly believed that Satan and the demons are doing and causing horrible things, if we truly did believe that God was who He says He is and that He is like He says He is, if we truly did love Him, then we would want to spend every second learning more about Him, worshiping Him, and telling about Him so that others may be saved, but we don't. I wish that I could force myself to spend all my time with God, but I can't. In fact I doubt it's even possible to forever be with God, always worshiping and telling of Him while on this earth.

That's all I have to say for now. Adios mis amigos y amigas.

Proverbs 13:7-9

this is something I did for youth group after we had a little bit of debate on these verses.

after doing some studying on these verses I have decided to put down my thoughts on them. Proverbs 13:7-9.

Proverbs 13:7

"There is one who pretends to be rich, but has nothing;" I believe that these are people like the pharisees, who on the outside were rich in the spirit and in godliness, but on the inside they had nothing. On the inside they were hideous people. They were rich while on the earth, but their heavenly treasures are nothing.

"Another pretends to be poor, but has great wealth." This one took a little while, but this is what I have so far. These are people poor in the spirit and show it. They covet, they lie, and they do other sinful things. And the part about them having great wealth, welll I don't know exactly what it is, but this is what I read. They are people who are poor in spirit, but have great material wealth.

Proverbs 13:8

I don't think I had to look this one up since there really wasn't any debate on what it meant, but I decided to include it anyways. "The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but the poor hears no rebuke." I came up with this, men who are rich are always watched and they are the ones that thieves look at, but a poor man is ignored.

Proverbs 13:9 now for verse nine. "The light of the righteous rejoices," The righteous rejoice and have joy, and they have a light of good works which doesn't go out. I think we all agreed with that, although I can't remember because it's been a couple of weeks. This one there was some discussion on though.

"but the lamp of the wicked go out." The wicked put out their own lamps, for it was they who rejected Christ and not Christ who rejected them. They were the ones who sent themselves to hell and still are sending themselves to hell. They chose not to follow Christ, and so they put their own lamps out.

so, those are my thoughts. feel free to comment.

July 2-July 5, 2009

so my aunt and uncle came over and I spent a lot of time with them, and almost no time on the computer. I probably spent a total of two and half to three hours. I played some games of settlers, apples to apples, and imagineif with them. I also went to a pool and played with my little cousins there. At the pool they had this nice hot tub. I really liked it. So anyways, I can't really think of anything more to say, so adios for now.

randomness (maybe over 4 hours)

Bible reading (20 minutes)

memory (10 minutes)

reading (2 hours)

mowed two lawns (about 2 and a half hours)

sat on my roof and watched fireworks (maybe an hour)

June 30, 2009

Since I didn't write down everything I did yesterday, I will do it now.

I went to the movies with my dad, my little brother and his friend. (I'm not sure how long it was. But the movie I watched was inkheart)

I had a sword fighting group. (two hours)

I memorized some of Proverbs one while my friends played the wii. (around two hours. Although I didn't memorize the whole time)

I did some research on whether or not a woman should teach a man. (around 30-40 minutes)

I did facebook and other random things on the computer. (40-50 minutes)

I read some books (1-2 hours)

That's all for yesterday.

no more video games

Lately I have noticed that video games have become more a part of my life than God and His Word have. I've noticed that when I play video games, it's harder for me to memorize scripture. It also makes me angry on the inside. I usually try not to let it show, but it is still a sin, God can still see my anger. So, starting tomorrow I am going to go at least a week with no video games, I will also limit myself to 1-2 hours of random computer time. This includes facebook, forums, videos, and anything else that i don't need to do. The things I will do, that I won't consider random, are blogging, listening to sermons, and doing research. Each day I will post what I have done on that day. If I go even one minute over the time have set for myself, I will lower my time by an hour to an hour and a half the next day.

If Evolution Was True

If evolution was true..............

1. We would be able to create our own worlds with the right kind of explosion.

2. We should respect monkeys and other animals and treat them like humans.

3. There would be no such thing as good and bad.

4. that must mean fossils evolve also. How else did fish get to the top of a mountain? Did the fossils grow legs or did they roll up?

Doesn't look like evolution is true, I'm sorry.

When will we begin?

Once again I am going to talk about the subjects of Christians, home school, and public school. Why do I keep going on about this topic? The reason is because this is one of the best ways for us kids to witness to other people. By being at public school we can witness to others. And either you or your parents are holding you back from going, because you have all these evil and scary thoughts about it. I want to tell you that it really depends on what school you go to. You can go to a school with gangsters, drugs, and police all over the place, or you can go to a good school. Some of us choose to go to a good school and witness to people, and then there are those who go to bad schools so they can witness to the really bad people, and then there are those who decide to stay at home because they're scared.

As I look around my school I see Mormons, Atheists, and people who say they're Christians but really aren't. I've seen all kinds of people, but so far I haven't met a true believer, not one. The are about five Mormons in two of my classes, and I don't mean five total, but five in EACH class. I still can't believe that there are no Christians so far. Where are they? I'll tell you where they are. They're in their houses doing school there, and learning more about the Bible. What they should be doing is learning more about the Bible and telling others about it. I don't think it's very easy to witness to people in public school when you stay away from it and act like you're better than people in public school.

Please know that this post is not trying to attack those of you who can't go to public school. I'm also not trying to say that everyone should go to public school, I think it's great that people want to learn on their own and have more free time. I just think that more of you need to break out of your shells. Those of you who have a huge love for the Lord and want to share Him with others, I strongly believe that you should go to public school. I've learned that it's a great place to share the good news with others. So those of you who think that public school is a place of the devil and sinners, go! You need to stop being afraid of the stories you hear. It's really that simple. A lot of the stories you hear probably aren't even true, unless you're talking about a really bad school.

Now I want to say this, I do believe that public school is a place where sinners are many. Everyone on this planet is a sinner, it's just that some of us are forgiven. And yes, there are people who don't respect their elders, and don't obey the rules, (a lot of you guys don't obey rules either) but there is a reason for this. The reason is because there aren't enough Christians to tell people what they're doing is wrong and why it's wrong. people just say it's wrong because it is, but no one really know where good and evil comes from, no one knows that Jesus told them not do the things they're doing. If you've watched Time Changer you'll see that it is important for us to say that not only what they're doing is wrong, but that Jesus said that, It could really make a difference.

interesting facts

Here's some quick and interesting facts about Mexico and America.

America took the following states from Mexico-

California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. That makes almost one third of the USA. They also took Texas from Mexico, which I'll be talking about later on, in another post.

Almost a sixth, maybe more of the USA's population is illegal immigrants. I didn't do the exact calculation, I just took a guess.

some of the states (maybe all of them) that the USA actually bought from Mexico, were given to us because the Mexicans were afraid we'd take them by force, and they weren't prepared for another battle.

Mexicans call America a "greedy nation" (I might actually agree with that.

A lot of Mexicans are afraid we might take more land from them.

wii

We just got a Wii on Easter and I've been playing it like crazy. It's so fun. We also got Super Smash Bros. Brawl. That is my favorite game ever. My two favorite characters in that game are Snake and Ike. We just unlocked Snake and now I have to get good as him again. I used to be a pro with him. A lot of people say that Ike and Marth are the same, but they really aren't. If you've played as both of them you can tell. Ike's moves are better than Marth's. That's all I have for now. Adios mis amigos.

homeschoolers

This post is for home schoolers

I was visiting a home school co-op that I used to go to, and I went to a debate class with one of my friends. As we were sitting there the teacher was saying how homeschoolers are lucky because they are smarter, and better than publicschoolers. Then my friend told the teacher that I was a publicschooler. I've been thinking about what she said and I know notice something that I never noticed when I was home schooled. A lot of homeschoolers think they're better than publicschoolers and smarter. They have this prideful and holier than thou attitude. It's funny, I never noticed that when I was homeschooled. I wonder if I said anything like that, or thought anything like that. That is no way for a Christian to act, a lot of homeschoolers that say these things have probably never experienced public school and they just go by what they hear.

A lot of Christians also wont go to public school because they believe it's evil and they'll be surrounded by fools. When Jesus came to the earth He was surrounded by fools, but he came to die on the cross so that we may have salvation and be free from sin. He also told us to preach the good news to all creation. (Acts 1:1-8)

I also think I have found why people buy all the evolution and stuff that public school teaches. The reason is because there aren't enough Christians there. There are a lot of Mormons, but not enough Christians to tell why public schools are teaching the wrong things. And we cant do that by staying home all day, sometimes we have to go to places that will give us hard trials and trust that the Lord will help us.

To tell you the truth, public school isn't really that bad. It really just depends on the school you go to.

To end I want to tell you, for those of you who are, stop having your prideful and better than you attitudes. It doesn't help anything, except for make the public schoolers feel like Christians aren't very nice people. God also tells us not to have those kinds of attitudes, but to love others and treat them as you would have them treat you.

casas de carton

here's a video my dad showed me. I really liked it.

casas de carton

here are the lyrics-

EDIT: the english lyrics were translated incorrect. I'll add them later.

spanish-

How happily live the dogs in the home of the exploitator

english-

How sad is the sound of rain on cardboard roofs
How sadly my people live in their cardboard houses

Down comes the worker, nearly dragging his steps from the weight of his suffering
Look how much suffering this is
Look at the weight of his suffering
Above he’s left his pregnant wife
Below lies the city, and he loses himself in its maze
Today is the same as yesterday…it is a world without tomorrow

How sad is the sound of rain on cardboard roofs
How sadly my people live in their cardboard houses

Children the color of my land, bearing their own scars, millionaires of nothing but worms
And that’s why I say, how sadly the children live in their cardboard houses

How happily the dogs live in the home of the exploiter
You are not going to believe this, but there are special schools Where dogs are trained not to bite those around them Yet the owner has been “biting” the worker for many years

How sad is the sound of rain on cardboard roofs
How sadly my people live in their cardboard houses

How far away from the cardboard houses…passes hope

oldies

Hi, I just thought I'd say my opinion on something. I dont like oldies, and the reason is because they're all about love. And it's all worldly love, it even seems like they're worshiping love and the person they love.

we will live peacefully

There are verses in the Bible that talk about Christians having peace. John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." and 2 John 1:3, "Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love." A lot of people say this means we wont have hardships and that we'll have good lives. That is not true. Matthew 5:10-12, "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." We will be persecuted, but in that time we should rejoice, and God will give us peace, and the endurance to withstand any trials. 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." Praise God, for helping us in this way. James 1 is also a great reminder that He is there for us. " James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings. Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away. For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away. Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who "love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. In the exercise of His will He "brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. This you know, my beloved brethren But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."

This is all I have to say for now. I'll try and write more tomorrow.

living differently

In my last post I said that we need to preach the gospel and not just live differently. Now I wasn't saying that we shouldn't live differently. We should, We need to be different than the world, but at the same time we need to make sure that's not our only goal. James 2:14-18 says, "What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." Without having works, and living differently our faith is nothing, and that means our preaching is nothing. How can someone who has no works be saved? The answer is, he cant. I can say I'm saved and go around acting like the world, but then you can just look at my actions and whatever my works are and say I'm not saved. In Matthew 5:13-16 it says, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." If we hide our works then we are also hiding our faith. And if our faith is hidden then what good is it? If we hide our faith we are also denying that we know, love, and have a relationship with God. That is like saying we hate Him, so do not hide your works, and do not act like the world, but also preach His name.

People say that we cannot judge a book by its cover, but I say we can. In James, does he not say that those without works have no faith? and in Matthew 7:15-20 it says, "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "So then, you will know them by their fruits." Their fruits will show what they are. If their fruits are bad, then they too are bad. In the same way, if their cover is bad, then they too are bad.

Offending others

there's this blog I was looking at, and the description of the blog says this, "Too many Christians these days go on the attack, using a battle axe to kill weeds instead of spraying the roots. The purpose of this blog is to defend the garden, rather than attack the weeds." I asked the creator of that blog what that means exactly. He said, "Basically, many Christians waste time attacking beliefs both inside and outside the church, when we should be defending Christianity." I replied and told him, "sometimes to defend you need to attack also. We need to show people that all those other religions are false. We need to show them all the mistakes in other religions. And we cant do that without attacking." It's true, if you defend your own faith, then you're attacking, and offending those who don't believe what you do. The writer of the blog then asked me, "Do we need to show them that their religions are false, or do we need them to see that we're not like the others?"

First, if we just act different from everyone else, then we'll be considered Mormons. It's true, I tested it. I'm different from the people at my school, so now they just think I'm a Mormon. We cant go around acting different and not preaching to these people. God command us to preach to the ends of the earth, (Mark 16:14, "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.") When preaching the good news we are also attacking and offending other peoples beliefs, unless you just preach what people want to hear, like a lot of these so-called "great preachers". You don't preach what people want to hear, you preach what they need to hear. And while doing this you also offend them.

Next, How do we waste time? By attacking the beliefs we're also defending them. Look at Martin Luther, John Calvin, and Aurelius Augustine. Without those men, who attacked and defended their beliefs, we would still be selling faith, and still be selling a way to get in heaven. The bishop would be higher than the Bible. Without people attacking, we cant stop all these wrong beliefs. In order to only defend and never attack, you would have to stay silent your whole life. And even then you wouldn't be defending your beliefs, in fact if you were to always stay silent, you would be attacking God. You would be disobeying His word, and his commands. God commands us, he doesn't ask us, He commands us to go and preach the good news to all creation. I will not back down and stay silent, while people are cursing God. No one should stay silent.

Science Teacher

My Science teacher yells a lot and has a really bad attitude. I found out she has three kids, and no husband. This has changed how I view her. I use to see her as a really mean woman, but now I see her a woman who's struggling and needs some people that are willing to help her out and be nice to her. I also say she needs the Lord. It's really hard to like someone like her, but today I tried something new.

In Matthew 5:43-44 Jesus says, "You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.' "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" I tried that today. It was hard to pray for someone who is always yelling, and making you angry, but it also helped me. It made me feel much calmer, and I kept reminding myself of what her life is probably like. The whole class period I prayed for her.

To end I want to ask you to pray for her and me.

One of the greatest heresies

If you haven't seen the Paul Washer videos, then you need to watch them. If you watched part of them and then got offended by what he was saying, then you need to see the rest, do some research and find out if what he is saying is true. I'll bet that you'll find that what he's saying is the truth, even if you don't want to. You'll also notice that he likes to point out one of the greatest heresies in his sermons.

One of the greatest heresies that Christians teach is that if you pray a prayer to God then you will be saved, forever. This is wrong. Anyone can pray, but there are few that actually mean it. In James 2:14-20 it says, "What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?" If you pray and you don't have faith or works, then you cant be saved. By praying that prayer it is like having faith without works, and works without faith.

I was listening to a sermon by Paul Washer. He said that a lot of preachers these days give 30 minute sermons, and 25 of those 30 minutes sermons are funny stories, finally after they finish their last five of minutes of their sermon, they ask people to pray and become Christians. Those people who pray probably weren't getting saved. They just thought that if they prayed they might look good, or maybe they thought they were getting saved and that was their first sermon, they ever heard. I must say though, if they did get saved then God was really working in their hearts, because there is no way someone can get saved after hearing 25 minutes of jokes, and a small 5 minutes sermon. When I heard Paul Washer preach on that it actually reminded me of one of my the old churches I went to.

Do calvinists follow Calvin and not Christ?

I once had a friend tell me that he wasn't a Calvinist because Calvinists follow Calvin, and he (my friend) follows Christ. Well if you aren't a Calvinist then you're an Arminian. Doesn't that mean you follow Arminius? Just because we believe the ideas of John Calvin doesn't mean we're his followers. We believe that what he said is true, but we follow Christ. If the case is that Calvinists follow Calvin, and that means that they don't follow Christ, then no one follows Christ. You believe a lot of the things that your pastor preaches is true, that means you follow your pastor, and not Christ. You believe a lot of what your parents tell you is true, that means you follow your parents and not Christ. Do you see how pointless it is to say that Calvinists follow Calvin? Of course we follow his teachings, but he teaches about Christ, which also means we follow Christ.

Revival

Have you ever seen someone who's said, "I've been praying that God would bring a revival to my Christian school for years. He hasn't brought a revival yet, but I'm still trusting in Him." And then you ask the man, "Well what have you done?"
"I've prayed to God."
"Well haven't you tried preaching to the students?"
"No. All I'm doing is praying and trusting that God will bring a revival." Good job for praying and and trusting in Him, but you have to do more than that. You need to preach to these people. How can there be a revival if you don't preach to them? Well now you could be saying, "but it's God's job to bring the revival." How is He going to bring revival without you first preaching to the people. God uses YOU to preach to the people. You plant the seed, you water it a little, AND THEN God will make it grow.

You can't expect a man who knows nothing of God to accept Him and go to heaven. That person first has to hear about the Word of God. And how will he hear about it? You will tell him about it. In Mark 16:15 it says, And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." It doesn't say "Pray that all creation will be saved." It says "Go into ALL the world and PREACH the GOSPEL to ALL CREATION." Once again I will say this, God uses you to start the revival. Then He works in their hearts.

America

America has gone from a good place, to a bad place. A lot of Christians have also changed. Sometimes I wonder just how many people that say they're Christians, really are. Here in America we have so much freedom to worship God, and at the same time too little. For now I'm going to talk about why so much freedom can sometimes be bad, later I'll talk about how so little freedom can be bad.

Because we are allowed to worship God, and we are not being killed for it, we don't worship Him enough. We don't read our Bibles enough and we don't preach enough. Some Christians have also decided to go against God and make up their own beliefs about Him, they also make their own Bibles. People are trying to add to the Bible. Why do we need to add to the Bible? It's already perfect, it is God's word. We think that we can help God make new rules, we think we can do more than God. That's crazy talk, God is perfect. You just cant add to God's plan. What we need now is men like Luther and Calvin. We need men to show these "Christians" that they are wrong.

EDIT: There is this one guy I like. His name is Paul Washer. He goes hard on people, check out this video. If you get offended by watching the first part, then you should probably watch the rest, do some research and see if what he says is really true. I'll bet that you're going to find that he's speaking the truth, even if you don't want to.

best day of school

Today was the best day of school. during science we went to a different class, a funner class. The girl that tried to flirt with me wasn't there today. She's been trying to get me to "fall" for her ever since she's seen me. I dont think she's used to guys not responding to her. Anyways, I also made some friends. Kind of. We played tag after lunch. Tag is a fun game, it's not only for little kids. We finished math early, and all of my classes have been really easy. That's all for now. Adios.

Rodney Mullen

I think Rodney Mullen is an amazing skater, but there are things I don't like about him. First I'm going to say why I like him.

Rodney Mullen, like Bob Burnquist, made a lot of changes to skateboarding. He invented the flat ground ollie, which is the one almost everyone uses. He also invented the curves to the sides of skateboard, I cant remember what that does, but it does help in skateboarding. He is also called the king of skate. He's a freestyle, and street skater.

I don't like him because I read his biography. He swears, and he claims to be a Christian. Then he calls the Bible a book for geeks, or a nerd book. What kind of Christian would do that?

games

notice I added some games, just because I like those ones. Oh! some new posts will be coming up soon.

1. The body of Christ (should Christians support churches that aren't their own?)

2. Do Calvinists follow Calvin and not Christ?

3. Rodney Mullen

more school

I got switched from health class to Spanish. And, I think I'll put a list of my classes. They'll be in order from my favorite class to my least favorite.

1. P.E.

2. History

3. Spanish

4. English

5. Math

6. Science

I love school, oh and I still haven't lost my faith. ;) So far this semester seems to be going by extremely fast. I just love public school. I haven't had a lot of homework. Ummmmm...................I cant really think of anything to say, so...........goodbye for now.

website

so I just decided to create a website for the fun of it. You can check it out and tell me what you think if you'd like. Just go to the skater's place.

Tony or Bob?

I know a lot of people say Tony Hawk is better than any other skater, but I believe that Bob Burnquist is the best. I mean he is the king of skateboarding. Watch the videos I put up of Bob, I'll put more up of him soon, but once you watch those, you'll think the same thing I do. I'll put some up of Tony Hawk also.

Bob Burnquist made changes to the skating history, he helped us move ahead. He did things other people didn't think was possible, and he believed in his ideas. When people said the skating history wouldn't, and couldn't move ahead, they were wrong. I love Bob Burnquist. I used to like Bucky Lasek, but now it's Bob Burnquist.

homeschoolers

EDIT: Alright, now I'm going to talk about all these crazy ideas that home schoolers have about public schoolers.

Now, have you ever heard those home schoolers who say public school is a place of the devil? That if you go to public school you're going to lose your salvation? I have. And already I'm losing my salvation.........ok, just kidding. Actually I think public school has been helping me a lot more than home schooling would, but I'll get back to this part later. Anyways, a lot of Christians say that you shouldn't go to public school, or you'll be surrounded by fools. So non-believers are fools? Even if that's not what they meant, that's what it looks like they're saying. What will happen if every Christian stops going to public school? Those non-believers are going to take into the lies of public school like evolution, Mormonism (Latter-day Saints), that it's not wrong to say the F-word, and much more. No one will ever witness to these people. Now I will admit that most of the people talk about things that I wont mention, but I still think public school is good. Why do homeschoolers say things about public school? Probably because they've never gone, and they just go by what they hear. They believe everything their parents tell them, everything their church tells them, their friends tell them things. Public school helps prepare a person for the world. When you graduate and you're on your own you'll encounter the things that you'll see at school, and you wont be ready for it. You may even encounter worse things.

I'll do the ideas of a public schooler later. Some of them are true btw.

third day of school

well, I guess I should tell you more. I lied....I do have History! Just found out yesterday. I like my history teacher, although during class he just talked about his experiences in school when he was younger. Today was my first day getting food from the cafeteria. It's actually not as bad as all those comic strips make it seem. It's not as good as some places, but it's still good. Now the hallways.....If you've seen the comics, well they aren't exaggerating, in fact they aren't even showing what it's really like. I mean, wow! That was crowded. Tomorrow I might have my first math test. I'm kind of nervous. Well now let's talk about the things I've seen and heard. I've heard the F-word, the S-word, the B-word, and a lot other words. Guys and girls were flirting. No one's aloud to hold hands, kiss, or any of that stuff, but flirting.....everyone does that. Hate to say this, but I had one girl try flirting with me, I ignored her.

Well end of post. Saturday or Sunday I'll try to write another post. But this one is going to be on all the crazy and wacky ideas that home schoolers and public schoolers have about each other.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well today was the first day of school. No homework today. It went well, I've already figured out who my favorite to least favorite teachers are. My gym teacher is my favorite, he seems like one of those guys who jokes around. He's stern but not too stern, and he can keep the class under control. He says that he doesn't like to yell at the class (like some teachers do). I don't have history. It's so sad :( . History is my favorite class. My favorite class is.......I have no idea. They didn't really do anything in the classes and today was a half day. Well That's all I have to say for now, I'll write more later.

School

I've been home schooled for about four or five years now, but tomorrow I'm going to public school. I'm excited and nervous. I've actually gotten kind of bored with home school. After I've gone to public school for about a week, I'll tell you more.

poems

I usually don't like poetry, but here's something I got from the realmers. I got permission from GlimpseofHK to put them on here, hope you enjoy.

"Heaven"

No more death,
No more night,
No more pain.
There will be no strife.
And we will be there,
in a blink of an eye.
With my Father,
It will be all right.

I'll be there.
And that's a fact.
Forever more,
And more than that!
No more tears,
We will not cry.
I'll wait for you
When I die.

Why should you lose your faith
When there is so much to believe?
Cause when we get there,
We will be free!

Don't miss me
When I'm gone.
He said I'd be there,
And He is never wrong!

I'll get there.
I'll see Him face to face.
We'll walk down streets of gold
and we'll embrace.

And He'll hold me.
Closer than before.
It will be nothing like
all the Fairytale lore.

I'll see lots of Christians.
I'll never be bored.
But I will see them later.
After I spend time with my Lord.

"Falling"

Lord, help me.
I call out to you.
For you are the only one
that can pull me through.

I am falling into
a pit of fear.
Hold me close.
Let me know your there.

Even when I fall
I am in Your care.
I never have to be alone
for You are always there.

I am calling once again.
Doubt caught hold of me.
But as You pull me back,
I know, my father, You'll always be.

You help me up, every time,
When I'm hanging by a thread.
You are right by my side.
Even when I am in bed.

I head off in the wrong direction,
Yet once again.

Satan takes that moment to strike.
His evil followers in packs.
But You have enough mercy,
To bring me back.

I am thankful,
I am not on my own.
Thank You Lord for being there.
I am Never Alone.

"The Choice"

God: My dear child,
Please listen.
You were once pure
and like snow, you glistened.

You are so special
to Me and my Son.
We will love you
when the day is done.

God: Come back
To the light of the day.
Come in.
Please don't turn away.
Come home.
Look to my face.
I have your saving grace.

Self: My God.
It has been so long.
I don't know how
I became so wrong.

The devil got my attention.
I need redemption.
I really need that voice,
Yours, that calls out to me.

God: Come back
To the light of the day.
Come in.
Please don't turn away.
Come home.
Look to my face.
I have your saving grace.

Self: Lord, I have sinned a lot.
God: But I've forgiven all of them.
Self: I am coal that you wouldn't want.
God: I see the inside. In Me, you are a gem.

The answer is your choice.
It is in your care.
But when you decide,
I'll be right here.
*whispers* psst no one repeat this, but I stole this post from TP. The Skater is going to be mad at me if he finds out. :D

FIRST POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS MY FIRST POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!! ok, so first I'd like to say that I am a very indecisive person. That means I'll probably be changing the template a lot. The main things I'm going to be talking about are skateboarding (why do you think I'm called the skater?) and Christianity. I like to debate btw, so if you disagree with something I say, dont worry abut offending me, just say whatever you're going to say. Here's my rules (everyone needs rules) no cussing, no calling me or other people names. That's about all. I'll post more later.
